Scott Dahlheimer Eng. 209-HSAF 13 Nov 2011 Points and summary The Man of Adamant 1. Throughout the story, Digby seems to need his mind set on going to this cave to be by himself. He seems to have grown distaste for the assuagement of the world or new he was going to snap off and wanted to do it on his own terms. 2 .Dibgy drinks the puddle from a source other than an ideal one. I demo Digby knows his time has come to die and the water he drinks see have a hardening effect on his torso and petrifies as hard as treasure. Digby is adamant on staying in the cave (stubborn as a rock) and feels hes in a wear place when he notes its break than the celestial sky. 3.The image he sees at the mouth of a cave is Mary who at first I visual sensation repr esented and backer of death. I feel that the ideal was toilsome and represented the counter to his stubbornness. Mary was insistent on secretiveness Digby but gave up, gave him the water that would harden him opposed to the medicine to bring back him. The author writes this story through a narrator who writes of seclusion, bleakness by choice, and talks of a suborn man with the it my way or the highway way of thinking. Adamant is something hard that doesnt perish (stubborn). It would seem that Digby already new of this place and chose it as his final result resting place where no one or no angel will change his mind. I also feel that whether he believed in heaven or not, Digby wanted to be this rock n roll statue. If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: OrderCustomPaper.com
